We keep busy with lots of games, arts and crafts, exercise and play at our holiday club. Our on-site chef runs cooking classes throughout the holidays, teaching children how to use utensils and how to make simple snacks such as muffins and fruit kebabs. We love going on walks to have picnics and we encourage parents to provide wellies, rain coats, sun cream and sun hats so that children can enjoy fresh air as much as possible!
Sensory rooms are calm and tranquil spaces that support children’s sensory stimulation through stimulating resources. Sensory stimulation – touch, taste, smell, sight and sound – is vital for young children’s brain development as the experiences children instinctively seek help them to make connections that develop their neural pathways over time. Support of children’s sensory experiences from birth has a long-lasting impact on the adults they become.
Taking part in fundraising activities helps children to learn about others that are less fortunate than themselves and understand how we can help them. Fundraising events are good fun and are a great way to get children, families and communities together. Some of the fundraisers we have taken part in are; sponsored toddles, superhero days, baking cakes to sell and garden parties. We currently support a number of charities including Barnados, Children in Need and The Cystic Fibrosis Trust.
Cooking with Chef
Wherever we can we encourage children to partake in preparing their meals at nursery. We love to see children take pride in their culinary creations and enjoy healthy and delicious food.
Our chef caters to various cultural dietary requirements, and is happy to accommodate your needs. We will also support you and your child in the weaning process.
Eco Schools is the largest sustainable schools programme in the world and is designed to encourage action on sustainable development education issues. Our children love getting involved in their Eco Schools projects and learning about how to help protect the environment. We encourage lots or recycling around the nursery and parents also bring in their empty boxes so the children can create junk modelling. We are very proud to hold the Green Flag Award.
We offer a nursery uniform for our little ones, making things that little bit easier for families, as we know you will already have lots of washing to do!
We celebrate Christmas by putting on a wonderful Christmas show for friends and family each year. There's always much excitement in preparing for the show as we learn songs and organise our special dress ups.
Our nursery enjoys great ties with our local community and we are often out and about visiting local sights and getting involved in events.
